Freedom Hunt Information
The Freedom Hunt is an early firearm deer hunt (occurring in mid-October) for individuals with disabilities. In order to hunt during this early season hunters disability must satisfy one of the following criteria: 100% disabled by USVA / Legally Blind / Possession of a permit to hunt from a standing vehicle from Mi-DNR / Possession of a permit to use a laser guided site from the Mi-DNR/ Deemed individually unemployable by USVA.
The Freedom Hunt is a completely free event to the participants where all meals, lodging, field guiding, deer processing, antlered deer taxidermy are provided. We strive to provide a deer camp atmosphere for our disabled hunters (80% of which are veterans) where their disability does not prevent them from getting out in the woods and enjoying a quality deer camp experience. Many community sponsors are responsible for making this event happen. Their generosity is what allows FCTC to provide deer camp for these disabled hunters free of charge.
We thank all who donated time, money, and product to this event and look forward to working with you in the future.
